Congratulations to our friend and colleague Darren Ash for receiving Goodwill Industries of the Southern Piedmont’s Jack Callaghan Cornerstone Award.
The Jack Callaghan Cornerstone Award is Goodwill’s highest honor and is given to a leader who has devoted their life to providing workforce development opportunities and services for people facing disabilities or disadvantages.
Darren will receive this honor at Goodwill’s 2014 Cornerstone Celebration on May 16. The annual luncheon spotlights graduates of Goodwill’s job training and career development programs and honors individuals and corporations for their support of Goodwill. View pictures from the event here.
CFH Executive Director Stephen Smith shares his thoughts. “Today we celebrated and honored a man whose life work is dedicated to empowering those who have fallen on hard times. Darren is someone who continuously puts the needs of others above his own, and I am honored to call him a colleague and friend. When Charlotte Family Housing was founded under his leadership three years ago, an innovative agency was created to end homelessness among working families. Darren is an amazing community advocate, and we’re honored to have him as part of the CFH family.”
Thank you Darren for all you continue to do to support families on their journey from homelessness to housing!
