  • Parent Workshop Childcare: Throughout the year, our parents participate in workshops that help prepare them for their lives after graduating from our programs. Providing childcare allows more of our families to participate in these important opportunities. Click here to learn more and sign up.
  • Meal Host: Sign up to provide meals for families at Hawthorne Place each Sunday, Tuesday, or Thursday. Meals can be dropped off at the shelter sites between 5:30 and 6:30 pm. Providing meals allows clients to focus dollars spent on food to savings for housing. Volunteers are asked to purchase and prepare meals that align with a suggested menu and prepare food prior to arrival.
  • Event volunteers: Events provide a variety of volunteer opportunities including assisting with overall event planning, marketing, preparatory tasks, errands, set up, registration, day-of-event activities, and clean up.
  • Skills-based volunteer roles: Are you a skilled writer or graphic designer? Do you enjoy creating calendars, preparing reports, writing press releases, taking photos or helping with special events? These are just some of the ways you can use your gifts and talents to benefit our organization, and ultimately benefit our families.

The safety of our clients is always our primary concern. For that reason, ALL volunteers must complete a background check through our preferred service provider, Sterling Volunteers. There will be no exceptions to this policy. For more information on the background checks we require, please visit https://www.sterlingvolunteers.com/.
