Volunteer Opportunities

We are excited to welcome back in person volunteers!

Traditional volunteer projects

There are multiple ways to volunteer with Charlotte Family Housing (CFH). Many volunteers appreciate the opportunity to participate in projects that allow them to see an immediate result. Some suggested opportunities are listed below.

Estimated amount of volunteers: max 12

  • Deep cleaning: Volunteers can assist with general cleaning tasks in common areas of the shelter (kitchen, dining room, living room, day center). If possible, please provide.

  • Welcome Basket Collection and Assembly: Volunteers can collect and assemble baskets filled with fresh linen to help give families a fresh start when entering the shelter and create a welcome environment.

The safety of our families is always our primary concern. For that reason, ALL volunteers must complete a background check through our preferred service provider, Sterling Volunteers. There will be no exceptions to this policy. For more information on the background checks we require, please visit https://www.sterlingvolunteers.com/.
